Forge DevCon gets bigger and more exciting every year. From the very first San Francisco Forge DevCon in 2016 to this past November's Las Vegas flagship event, it has always been a place for cloud-curious professionals of all types to learn about the newest innovations with Forge, share their own projects, and gather with other cloud professionals who want to build design and engineering applications. Forge DevCon teams up with Autodesk University in Germany, Japan, China, and Las Vegas in order to provide a combined learning and networking experience attendees across the globe.
Las Vegas, Nevada - November 18, 2019
Forge DevCon teamed up for the second year with the Connect and Construct Summit to bring you our largest pre-conference to date. The Village, a hub designed for networking and learning, featured demos from 25 exhibitors, including sponsors AWS and Applied Technology, a number of Forge System Integrators, universities from all over the world, and a gaming zone for developers to test out their programming skills with coding challenges.
Some more highlights include:
- Keynote: This year's keynote presentation focused on the topic of Digital Transformation, featuring Autodesk speakers Susanna Holt (VP Forge Platform) and Jim Quanci (), and customer presenters Jimmy Forsberg (Business Development Manager, Skanska Digital Hub), Chris Acheson (CEO & Founder, CADshare) and Eric Lam (Board Member, DPR). - 30 classes across Forge DevCon and Autodesk University focusing on topics randing from AEC, D&M, and general web programming, to building a business on Forge
- Full-time Answer Bar to chat with Forge experts and get answers to all your Forge questions
- AWS DeepRacer track and races, showcasing the Forge Digital Twin
The Forge Center at Autodesk University was also well-attended throughout the week. Located near the Answer Bar and in between the iconic Autodesk exhibits, the Forge Center featured a video wall showcasing Autodesk and Forge demo videos and a Developer Zone for customers to sit down with Forge experts and get one-on-one help with their cloud application solutions.
The Forge Center also featured three zones for attendees to network with one another, as well as illustrate what the cloud meant to them in the Visualization Zone, work together to solve a cloud puzzle in the Collaboration Zone, and chat with AI experts in the Automation Zone. Other highlights included:
- A Forge Leadership happy hour where attendees got to meet and network with a number of Forge leaders, including Susanna Holt, Brian Roepke, Arno Zinke, and Ron Locklin
- A Forge scavenger hunt that encouraged visiting Forge System Integrators throughout the Expo Hall to get a stamp. Three stamps got attendees entered into a daily raffle, for a chance to win an Oculus Quest, a Vector Robot, or Airpods

Darmstadt, Germany - October 14
Forge DevCon Germany took place on Monday October 14th at Centralstation, a former energy plant in Darmstadt, right before AU Germany kicked off on the 15th. This is the third year Autodesk has held this conference and like a fine wine, it just keeps getting better with age!
Susanna Holt announced during the keynote presentation that the Design Automation APIs for Revit, Inventor, and 3ds Max were being released to the public on October 28. Customer speakers also included Chris Acheson, CEO and Founder of CADshare, and Frode Tørresdal, Head of Development at Norconsult. Jim Quanci, Senior Director of Forge Partner Development, then shared what's coming next on the Forge Roadmap.
