9 Can't Miss Forge Activities at AU 2020

So what is Forge up to this year?

While there is no Forge DevCon this year, we are taking the partnership with Autodesk University to the next level.  We have a bunch of the classes, answer bar, and pre-events that you’ll definitely want to check out.

1. Classes

With over 120 Forge-focused classes offered in 7 languages, there is bound to be something perfect for you.

This year we’ve also done a twist on the classic classes you’ve come to know us for. We are having multiple Forge Roadmap classes featuring topics like Visual Insights and Fusion on Forge Data. We also are bringing back 10 Useful and Cool Forge Applications. To top it all off, both these class series will be offered in multiple languages, like French, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.

We also have invited 10 companies to share their stories on topics like facility management, Smart Buildings, IoT, BIM 360 for Contractors, Design Automation, Forge for infrastructure, Generative Design, Dashboards, and sustainable construction solutions.

2. Keynotes

Forge is a cross-industry platform with cross-industry solutions. So this year, we aren’t just focused on one Forge keynote. We do have a main Forge keynote where you can hear about where Forge is today and where it’s headed tomorrow. But we also have 4 industry-specific presentations available on-demand, featuring Forge and industry leaders. You’ll hear concrete examples from companies like Toshiba, BAMCore, Black and Veatch, and Norconsult who are using Forge in Manufacturing, Building Design, Construction, and Infrastructure.

3. Answer Bar

The Forge Answer Bar is back and like the conference is virtual. Throughout the event, Forge experts will be on standby to answer your burning Forge questions. You’ll be able to access the answer bar from the conference website or virtual expo.

4. Online Bootcamp (Self Learning with Live Review)

Before the AU conference kicks off we have a number of pre-conference events. The Online Bootcamp is one of them. From October 19-23, you can get hands on with Forge with tutorial series, live review sessions, and more. Attend this event if you want to focus on your improving your Forge skills with the help of Forge experts and tutorials.

5. Lightning Talks

New this year are a series of lightning talks. On November 3-4, we will host this special series geared to onboarding developers onto the Forge Platform. Then during the week of AU, we’ll bring the lightning talks back. This time they won't just be for developers. Instead they will cover a series of topics organized by track for a total of 42 sessions.

6. Hackathon

We will be hosting a Hackathon the week before AU on November 9-13. This is a great event to join if you have an application idea or are joining the Bootcamp. This is a great event for any team that wants to roll their sleeves up and test their mettle against one of the featured topics.

7. Hackathon Showcase

Maybe attending a hackathon isn’t your thing, but you might be curious to see what gets built. Join the Hackathon Showcase to see and hear from the winners. On November 18, we will share a 45-minute recap featuring the winner demos. Learn how they tackled the challenge and built their solution.

8. Forge Fire Faceoff

Each year we feature interviews or fireside chats with our leadership. This year we decided to take that concept and turn up the heat. Literally. On November 17, we will air our interview game show, The Forge Fire Faceoff. Hear from Autodesk and Forge leaders as they battle spicy sauces and even spicier questions.

9. Forge at AU Highlights

Close out your Forge at AU experience with our Forge at Autodesk University Highlights. We’ll share the best of the best from the week. If you can’t make it to each of the exciting activities, then this is the one for you. Catch the summary and recap in this highlights feature airing on November 20.
