What is going on with Forge at Autodesk University 2021?

Forge Autodesk University registration is open

We are thrilled to announce that registration has just opened for Autodesk University (AU) 2021, specifically for the Americas region. This year AU is a free virtual conference that will happen across the course of two weeks, covering a few different geographies:

  • October 5-7 (Americas)

  • October 6-8 (EMEA and India)

  • October 13-14 (Japan, China, and Korea)

If you are interested in the EMEA and APAC events, registration for those will open in early August. We will share an update on our AU landing page when that happens, so keep an eye on this page so you’re the first to know.

So, what is Forge doing for AU this year?

In true Forge fashion, we are focused on a few amazing pre-events and some awesome features during the week of Autodesk University. Check them out and sign up today:

Forge Online Bootcamp for Developers

Sept 13-16, we will be hosting a Forge Online Bootcamp. This self-guided training features four 30-minute virtual sessions each day covering the basics of Forge and how to create an app using Forge APIs and services. You will have the choice of two paths, .NET or Nodejs. Register now for this free virtual bootcamp.

Forge Hackathon

Back again by popular demand, we are hosting a week-long hackathon the week before AU from September 27 – October 1. This virtual event is open to any developers with some basic Forge API development skills. Join as an individual or part of a team and tackle one of the five challenges in the following themes:

  • XR App

  • Digital Twin

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud

  • Task Automation (Revit/Inventor)

  • Forge Gamification

Winners get to choose their prize, which will be announced soon. Last year we had Marshall Speakers, Apple Watches, and VR headsets, to name a few. Winners will also be invited back the week of AU to showcase their demo at the Hackathon Showcase for all of Autodesk University to see. Register now to be a part of this awesome event.

Forge Lightning Talks

This year we are revamping our lightning talks. We are making them into 5-minute video segments so you can quickly get a rundown of the most popular topics. We will have about 15 different talks across 3 different topics. These will be released right here on the Forge website on October 5th when AU officially kicks off.

Forge Documentary

It has been a crazy ride for the past 5 years for the Forge platform. We have evolved our services and teams to better reflect our vision of being a platform company that connects your design data, automates your workflows, and provides actionable insights across tools. This documentary will take you through the journey that we have taken, showcasing the ups and downs and everything in between. We will be unveiling this documentary October 5th when AU kicks off.

Forge Keynote

Susanna Holt and Brian Roepke will be returning to the stage on October 7th to share some innovative approaches to building with Forge from customers Accenture, AECOM, and Emerson. They will also share a glimpse into what is next for the Forge platform. Be sure to add this one to your schedule as you will not want to miss it.

Forge at AU Twitter Trivia

This year we will be doing something fun on Twitter to help get you revved up and excited about all the fun things we are doing at AU. We will be posting a weekly trivia question on Twitter. You can find the answers to trivia questions in our blog posts like this one, our AU landing page, or the AU website. First five people to respond to the Trivia Tweet with the right answer will win a sweet swag pack. Follow us on Twitter to play along and go here for instructions on how to play as well as the terms and conditions.

So, with all this great activity happening, you will want to reserve your free pass to Autodesk University 2021. Check out the website to learn more and register today
